As a Las Vegas native, Mackenzie Warren is thrilled to be back in her hometown! She joined the News 3 Team in October 2011.
Mackenzie is no stranger to Nevada news. She came to KSNV from Intermountain West’s station in Reno, KRNV. Mackenzie was the morning reporter, up at 2:30 a.m. daily, covering everything from the Sierra snow to the Nevada Legislature. As a product of Nevada public schools, Mackenzie has a passion for reporting on the education system. She also loves a juicy investigative story and isn’t afraid to hold politicians accountable. Up north, Mackenzie had her fair share of breaking news—she was one of the first to report live from the scene of the tragic Reno Air Races crash.
Mackenzie graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas where she got a degree in Convergence Journalism with a minor in Human Rights. In college Mackenzie worked for the Houston Chronicle’s Washington bureau as a political blogger and was twice an intern for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams in NYC.
And though she hopes to make it back to the Big Apple someday, Mackenzie is enjoying being close to her family and serving the Las Vegas community. When she’s not at work, Mackenzie’s still working—always on the hunt for a good story.
