Client: Nima Shaffe
Skill: Reporter

Kansas City native Nima Shaffe joined the KCTV5 news team in March 2011 as a reporter.

Nima graduated from Park Hill High School. He received a degree in broadcast communications and journalism in December 2007. Nima is proud to say that he was the university’s first mascot in more than 15 years. He also was a game announcer for the Park University Pirates.

After graduation, Nima worked for KMTV-TV in Omaha and KKTV-TV in Colorado Springs, Colo. He worked for KQTV-TV in St. Joseph while in college and after graduation.

Nima is also a skilled weather anchor. He reported for KCTV5 in Alabama and Joplin after tornadoes devastated those areas.

Nima is thrilled that his family gets to see him on air, especially his nieces and nephews. He is following his father’s advice, who always told him to “dream big.”

“Every time I step in front of the camera, it’s a tribute to my parents. Both of my parents were born and raised in Iran and later immigrated and gained U.S. citizenship,” Nima said. “Kansas City became their second home. Every time I step in front of the camera, I tell myself, ‘This one’s for you Dad. This one’s for you Mom.'”

He was added to the It’s Your Morning team in September 2011.
