Molly McCollum

Hi everyone! My name is Molly McCollum and I joined the Channel 8 family in May of 2016.

Growing up, I was always fascinated by the weather, but it wasn’t until 2011 when I experienced, first-hand, the widespread destruction of the EF-4 Tuscaloosa tornado that I knew I wanted to make meteorology my life-long passion.

My meteorology career began back in Georgia, where I graduated with honors with my B.S. in Geography and my certificate in Atmospheric Sciences. I interned for WAGA-TV in Atlanta as well as for AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions in Wichita, Kan. It was during my time in Kansas that I fell in love with the dynamic weather of the Great Plains.

Before moving to Tulsa, I worked for KWCH-TV in Wichita where I covered everything from blizzards to tornadoes, sometimes all within 24 hours. I have also spent an extensive amount of time storm chasing across the Plains with my two dogs.
