Ana Cabrera will join CNN later this month as a Correspondent/Anchor in the network’s new Denver bureau. Ana’s a Denver native who has anchored weekday mornings at KMGH, the Scripps (ABC) affiliate in the Mile High City, for the past three years. She began working at KMGH in 2009 after previous Anchor and Reporter stints in Spokane, Washington.
Patrick Fazio is the new Weekday AM Anchor at KSHB, the Scripps (NBC) station Kansas City. Patrick moves from WTWO in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he had been the Main Anchor for 6 years and won several national and regional awards for his Anchoring and Reporting.
Across town, Matt Flener is now anchoring weekday mornings at Hearst’s KCWE (CW 29), while also reporting and fill-in anchoring on sister station KMBC (ABC 9). Matt’s a Missouri grad who previously anchored and reported for KUSA/Denver and KXAN/Austin.
Pablo Pereira recently signed a contract to take over Weekday Evening Meteorologist duties at KTTV, the Fox O&O in Los Angeles, on a full-time basis. Pablo, who has previously worked in the LA market at KNBC and KABC, had been freelancing on the evening shows since late 2012.
Natasha Chen joins KIRO, the Cox-owned CBS station in Seattle, next month as a Reporter after three years with WREG/Memphis. Natasha is a San Francisco native who graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in psychology from Stanford and also has a Masters in broadcast journalism from USC.
Gannon Medwick is the new Chief Meteorologist at WECT, Raycom’s NBC 6 in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was a fairly short move for Gannon and his family after he spent the last 8 years doing weekday morning weather at WNCT in Greenville.
Shawn Kline has already started as a Reporter/MMJ at KPHO, the Meredith (CBS) station in Phoenix. Shawn is originally from Buffalo, but spent the past few years reporting in Columbus, Ohio, after previous stops in Louisiana and West Virginia.
Katie Conner is also in Phoenix, now working as a Reporter/MMJ at Scripps’ KNXV. Arizona is home for Katie, who grew up in Scottsdale and spent the last few years as an AM Anchor/Reporter in Medford, Oregon.
Another Arizona native, Chelsea Rarrick, recently began her 2nd job as a Reporter at WTVR, the Local TV (soon to be Tribune) CBS station in Richmond, Virginia. Chelsea spent the last two years working at WUTR in Utica, New York.
Chris Gloninger joins WISN/Milwaukee next week as the new Weekend Meteorologist for the Hearst (ABC) affiliate. Chris has previously worked in New York and Michigan and is ready for his first Wisconsin winter!
Meanwhile, the meteorologist that Chris is replacing, Luke Sampe, is the new Chief Met at WFRV, the Nexstar (CBS) affiliate in Green Bay. Luke’s a Wisconsin native who earned Bachelor and Masters degrees in Atmospheric Science from UW-Milwaukee.
Tyler Mauldin has moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, where he recently joined WPTV, the Scripps NBC powerhouse, as the Weekend Morning Meteorologist. Tyler is a University of Georgia graduate, who previously worked in Ft. Myers, Florida and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Kylie Bearse has been hired to do weekend weather at KTVX in Salt Lake City. Kylie is a University of Colorado grad who moves to Utah after two years of anchoring weather and news in Idaho Falls.
Another CU grad is leaving Boulder for neighboring Nebraska. Natalie Wood is joining Gray’s KGIN, the CBS station in Grand Island, where she’ll Anchor the evening news and serve as Executive Producer. Natalie has spent the last 3 years anchoring the daily newscast on Boulder’s independent Channel 8.
Finally, Carl Deffenbaugh is gearing up for the college football season as the newest Sports Anchor/Reporter at Schurz’ WSBT (CBS) in South Bend, Indiana, where he’ll be focusing on Notre Dame athletics after a couple years covering the ACC for sister station WDBJ in Roanoke, Virginia.
New contracts for Ana, Patrick, Matt, Pablo, Natasha, Gannon, Shawn, Katie, Chelsea, Chris, Luke, Tyler, Kylie, Natalie & Carl were negotiated by Rick Carr, Esq. of TVContract.Com.
